On 19 November, the third Schools Videoconferencing User Group Conference took place at the Museum of London. The event was fully booked, with 100 delegates attending in person along with 11 sites from around the world via videoconference.
The event was sponsored and organised by JANET(UK), SEGfL and the Museum of London and highlighted the exciting activities happening in both the schools and cultural sectors. Delegates enjoyed presentations from the National Archives, Welsh Video Network, The British Council, Wigan Council, LGfL, Culture 24, JANET(UK) and, finally, a live video link via TRUCK (a fully equipped outside broadcast unit supplied and run by www.Neelb.tv ) to an education officer on the beach at Port Stewart, Northern Ireland. Presentations from the day are available via the agenda at https://www.ja.net/services/events/2009/schoolsvc_usergroup/. Popular demand is pressing for a repeat of the event at the same time next year, so watch out for an announcement.
