On Wednesday 20th January at the Guild Hall in London, the national digital resource bank (ndrb) won the "Highly Commended" accolade within the e-government 2009 awards. The awards are sponsored by Cabinet Office and are the most sought after awards for Local and Central Government organisations. ndrb is an initiative of the North West Learning Grid and such early recognition of the project, was even more surprising considering it was competing against much bigger organisations and for projects that had been developed over much longer periods.
The national digital resource bank is now recognised internationally as the largest source of UK digital resources with many other countries wishing to federate with it. Many Local Authorities have now recognised that ndrb is the only cost effective way to populate their learning platforms with excellent digital resources and complete curriculum coverage.
