JISC Collections for Schools Pilot

We are delighted to announce that the JISC Collections for Schools pilot project is launching today!

From April 2008, and for the very first time, schools can benefit from nationally-negotiated terms for a range of specially-selected and high quality online subscription services - from newspaper archives and image databanks to invaluable resources covering history, science, art and music, modern languages and much, much more.

Becta has funded JISC Collections for Schools: Online Subscription Resources pilot project until 31 September 2009. This pilot project is a new venture for the UK Schools community, but represents an excellent opportunity for the UK schools community, JISC Collections, Becta and our Regional Broadband Consortia and local authority colleagues to work together to offer the best possible value to schools.

The project website is now ready at http://jcs.nen.gov.uk and all online subscription resources (http://jcs.nen.gov.uk/catalogue.html) are now available with the exception of Education Image Gallery and the Guardian and Observer Archive (agreements still being finalised.)
