The Royal Geographical Society was the venue for the launch of the LGfL Low Carbon London Project, an online Key Stage 3 Geography. The project focuses on London’s ambitious Carbon Dioxide emission targets and asks students to consider whether Londoner’s are too selfish to make the changes necessary.
Video clips of experts in Climate mitigation at the Greater London Authority are available online to help develop students understanding of the issues. The project leads the students towards a stakeholder role play debate in class culminating in a decision making exercise similar to that found at GCSE level. The project has been designed to recruit students into opting for Geography at GCSE level and features support for Behaviour for Learning and Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning.
